HISTORY AND THEORY OF DIGITAL ARTS
View FullscreenThis art could not be executed without the digital tools. My inspirations comes from the line drawing of Ankhor Wat in Cambodia. This cause me to explore other sites around the world. It is important that I chose sites with other shapes, in order to produce new line drawings. I wanted to drasw attention to the digital unraveling of the underlying shapes.
Seen from Space, there structures appear to be quite accurate rectangles, circles, triangles and squares. The striking keyhole tombs in Osaka being a nice exception.
These structures have also, in the case of the Parthenon and the pyramids at Giza, made themselves even more striking from space. This is due to the position atop the Acropolis for the Parthenon and the dramatic size and shape of the site at Giza, due to its juxtaposition to the nearby city of Cairo.
